Street drinking \u2014 BAD, no entry. Any level of intoxication prior to entering \u2014 BAD, no entry. On this issue I&#x27;ll stand my ground more than a group of &#x27;middle aged&#x27; cyclists in lycra riding on a road adjacent to a bike path,&quot; one post read.<br \/>Sergeant Cleal said he found people appreciated his honesty.<br \/>&quot;Because I&#x27;ve let people know what we&#x27;re doing, warts and all, they appreciate that we are working hard,&quot; he said.<br \/>&quot;Even in times when we were going through crime spikes, people appreciated the police and what we&#x27;re doing.&quot;<br \/>The down-to-earth posts are not the usual style of the WA Police Media department.<br \/>&quot;I&#x27;ve copped a couple of smacks from those above with some of my posts,&quot; he said.<br \/>&quot;But at the same time, they&#x27;ve also appreciated the fact the community have appreciated them \u2026 a real connection between the community and police, and that we are as one.&quot;<br \/>In one particularly popular post\u00a0which\u00a0got over 9,000 likes and over 230 shares, the sergeant said he\u00a0had not &quot;felt this emotional since Molly died on A Country Practice&quot; when describing a caring community deed.<br \/>One of the sergeant&#x27;s more sombre posts left audiences with a heavy heart.<br \/>&quot;Usually we post CCTV footage of crooks, however, the below footage is ME over Christmas &#x27;venting&#x27; on the phone \u2026 clearly attempting to have a conversation in private so [his crew] don&#x27;t see me breaking,&quot; the post said.<br \/>&quot;I love this place and am very passionate about keeping it great, but some days I want to run away, other days I want to run for Mayor \u2014 that&#x27;s just Hedland I guess.<br \/>&quot;Please just remember to lock up \u2014 it will decrease your chances of being targeted and reduce my chances of crying on the steps again.&quot;<br \/>Port Hedland is one of many regional communities dealing with a spike in crime rates and youth offending, and Sergeant Cleal has used social media to remind locals to lock up.<br \/>&quot;I do see and read people&#x27;s messages of the revolving door and the kids re-offending and, you know, the court&#x27;s driving them crackers, and they&#x27;re hamstrung by rules themselves,&quot; he said.<br \/>&quot;But look, [over] the last week and a half youth crime has plummeted to almost nothing and that&#x27;s such a great result.&quot;<br \/>This week Sergeant Cleal posted on the Pilbara police page for the last time, announcing he was\u00a0moving on\u00a0to a new position.<br \/>Residents took to Facebook to thank the Sergeant and wish him well in his next endeavour.<br \/>&quot;Our family will miss your dad jokes and your up-front wit. The town won&#x27;t be the same without your fabulous social media update,&quot;\u00a0Amber Eyre said.<br \/>&quot;Good luck with your move. Hope your replacement is half as good with their reports.
