WhatsApp Is Bringing Facebook-Like Message Reactions In The App Very Soon – India Times

Everybody loves reacting to everything and WhatsApp does not want to be left behind. Taking a page out of its parent company Facebook’s book, WhatsApp is bringing reactions to the instant messaging app.
The rumoured reactions feature would allow users to react to each message in a chat, akin to how Instagram works. Turns out, the reaction tab had been under development for quite some time.

Reactions to messages would be available not only for individual chat threads but also for group chat messages. Using different emoji-style reactions, users will be respond to message. This may help end the needless « ok » reactions to messages on WhatsApp.
According to WABetaInfo, the reactions feature is coming to WhatsApp in a future update. But it’s not gracing our screens any time soon, for the feature is still being developed.

The reaction to each message will show up below the message, but a separate reaction tab will show who reacted to what message with which emoji – just like Instagram. For now, it appears that WhatsApp reactions would be limited to six emojis and users will be able to react to a specific message only once.
The feature was spotted during development of WhatsApp beta for iOS, but the feature would be rolled out to WhatsApp beta for Android in the near future.
