A Facebook page that drew local attention over the weekend regarding Chick-fil-A in Plainview is fraudulent.
The Facebook page, which shared its first post Nov. 24, includes contact information and multiple posts regarding supposed opening dates.
The city noted Monday morning that it had not received any permit applications and could not confirm the validity of the Facebook page named “Chick-fil-A Plainview” which had by that point garnered 322 followers.
Later, a spokesperson for the food chain said the company is actively working to get the fraudulent social media page taken down.
“The Facebook page referencing the opening of Chick-fil-A Plainview is an inauthentic page with incorrect information. We are working to get this page removed and apologize for any confusion,” reads a statement from the company.
